Mason Jar Teacher Gifts
School’s already back in session, but it’s not too late to create some crafts for your kids’ favorite teachers. These adorable pencil cups just call for some acrylic paint, cute ribbon, a bit of hot glue, and pretty paper for a name tag.
The colors in this example work really well together, but you can go your own way. Maybe your daughter’s favorite teacher loves purple and green. Maybe your son’s coach likes brown and blue. You can customize to your heart’s content.
Mason Jar Snack Time
A healthy snack is hard to come by sometimes. That’s why these Mason jar salads are such a treat. Just cut up some veggies, layer them on top of your favorite salad dressing, and then top with grilled chicken, shrimp, tuna, or even steak. Plop them in the fridge and you’ve got a snack ready when you are. All you have to do when you’re hungry is shake to distribute the dressing and then grab a fork.
As an added bonus, they just look pretty when hanging around your refrigerator waiting to be eaten.
Mason Jar Party Lighting
This setup looks more complicated than it is. You need a few things to prep, including strands of fairy lights, your Mason jars, jar hanging hooks, and sturdy clothesline or thin nylon rope. String your line, hang your jars, and then wrap the fairy lights around the rope. When you reach a jar, stuff a handful of the lights in, and then continue down the line. The finished result looks so much more polished than the process suggests.
Festive Fall Mason Jars
It’s craft time with the kids again! You can choose from two fall-themed projects, both cute as a button when complete. The first just requires some orange tissue paper, some Elmer’s glue, and a black magic marker. Draw jack o’lantern faces on the tissue, glue to the outside of the mason jar, and maybe top with some ribbon or twine. When the glue is dry, drop a candle inside and enjoy the glow.
For older or more crafty kids, you might consider the second project. You’ll need some acrylic paint and a stencil. This particular jar features a leaf, but you can seek out any stencil you like. Leaves, pumpkins, apples… The possibilities are endless. Fix the stencil in place, paint around it, and allow the jar to dry. When the stencil is removed, you’ll have a window in the jar for the glow of a candle to escape.
